Spotify Integration

When you connect your Spotify account, we access:

  • Your currently playing track
  • Your playlists (private and collaborative)
  • Your recently played tracks
  • Your saved library
  • Basic profile information

Important: We do not store your Spotify data on our servers. All Spotify data is accessed in real-time through Spotify's API and is only displayed to you within the application.

Automatically Collected Information

  • Browser type and version
  • Device information
  • Usage analytics (via Vercel Analytics)
  • IP address (anonymized)

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide emotion analysis and journaling features
  • To display your Spotify music information
  • To improve our services and user experience
  • To communicate with you about updates or issues
  • To comply with legal obligations

Data Storage

Your journal entries are stored locally in your browser's local storage by default. If you create an account, your data is securely stored in our database hosted on Supabase with industry-standard encryption.

Spotify access tokens are stored locally in your browser and are automatically refreshed. We never store your Spotify credentials.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Spotify: To access your music data (with your permission)
  • OpenAI: To analyze emotions from your journal entries
  • Lyrics.ovh: To fetch song lyrics
  • Vercel: For hosting and analytics
  • Supabase: For secure data storage (optional)

Each service has its own privacy policy governing their use of your data.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your data
  • Export your data
  • Revoke Spotify access at any time
  • Opt-out of analytics

Revoking Spotify Access

You can revoke our access to your Spotify data at any time by:

  1. Clicking "Disconnect" in the app settings
  2. Or visiting your Spotify account settings at spotify.com/account/apps

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
